Property Tax

Property tax: Property tax is the issue on everyone's mind. They hate the increase in property that comes every year. We are capped at 3% by state legislation, but 3% is still too high for a year over year increase. My proposal is to not lower property tax but rather to hold the line. Keep the taxes at the same rate and not have an increase during my term as Mayor 

Naturally the city gains about 5-7% more property taxes just off of new builds each year.                                        We need to rely on this new property tax, rather than relying on increasing your home's property tax. Holding the same rate will give homeowners relief knowing that the price will be the same year over year and it will shift the city's focus to new builds.
