Police Department
The City of Fargo Police Department faces several issues, including communication and leadership. This is not the fault of individual officers, but rather an issue with leadership within our city. During Chief Zibolski’s time in office, there have been 50 resignations. Only 13 of those were retirements; the rest were officers leaving the department or moving to other agencies. This is a concerning issue for our city.
I am not directly calling for the resignation of Chief Zibolski, but it is fair to consider whether different leadership may be what Fargo needs. I appreciate the work of the individual officers who serve our community and keep us safe. However, as the city continues to grow, the police department must grow with it. True expansion and improvement start internally.
